OMG Spectular Stunning Queen Size 7 Piece Bedroom Set, including a Queen size headboard with lighting, 2 night Stands, a low boy dresser with 2 mirrors, and a high boy gentlemens dresser (this piece is extremely rare). This 1963 United Furniture Tiki Brutalist set was delivered to their home when they bought it brand new and has never been moved. They took extremely good care of it and it is nearly flawless.
We are selling only as a set for 1 month. If it does not sell, we will then open it up and sell the pieces individually. The individual prices are listed below.
Low Boy; usually sells between $3400 and $3800 without mirrors. The mirrors alone go for $1500 for the set. We will sell ours for $3950 including the mirrors starting Feb 20th if the entire set does not sell by then. We will take a $500 purchase deposit on it during the next 30 days. High Boy Gentlemens Dresser; usually sells around $3500. We will sell ours for $3350 starting Feb 20th if the entire set does not sell by then. This set is a very highly collectable and sought after set of MCM Tiki furniture. I doubt another set of these exists in this good of condition. If this is in your wheel house, you will not be disappointed.
While a specific manufacturer or designer name is not visible, this style is characteristic of pieces from that era, sometimes attributed to designers like Tony Paul or companies like Majestic Lamp Co., who produced similar lamps with fiberglass shades
The chess set was the first in a series commissioned by the Alcoa Corporation (Aluminum Company of America) as a holiday gift for VIP customers. It was released in 1962.
The pieces are cut from solid, milled aluminum bars. The white pieces have a natural finish, while the black pieces have black anodized sides with natural faces to differentiate them.
Each piece is stamped with "1962 Austin Enterprises" on the underside.
The set comee in its original wall-mountable walnut case with a blue acrylic sliding cover.
